FOUR GOLDEN RULES

I have no prejudice against anyone but when I’m considering any defense or attack technique I claim that it should be

SHORT, FAST , EASY , SAFE.

SHORT

Because you have to control your opponent and everything around you  “as soon as possible”!

FAST

Because you’ll have already finished before your opponent finds a remedy to your action.

EASY

Because a simple thing will last forever.

SAFE

Because it must be the least risky possible!

Take account of these four principles for all solutions to be adopted is of vital importance.
From now on, when you’ll see any new technical approach, you’ll know how to evaluate it with greater knowledge.

I hope to be helpful. Good luck!

Jason.

HOW TO EVALUATE THE COMPETENCE OF YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Each technique learned in the gym must also include the solutions of these frequent complications in real life:

1. you are not sure that your opponent is alone or that he has a hide weapon

2. It is vital that the weapon of your opponent fall into your hands and not on the ground for obvious safety reasonsa per ovvi motivi di sicurezza.

3. You must disarm your enemy going out to his right or to his left

4. The attacker is not alone, he has an accomplice to your right or to your left or back to your shoulders.

5. His accomplices are more than one, they are far, they’re near, they’re more or less armed and dangerous.

6. You have to choose whether to disarm and bring to the ground your assailant or if you do to keep him standing waiting to decide what to do

7. You do have to search your opponent holding him under pressure, because you absolutely need a human shield.

8. You have to manage your weapon and the one of your opponent that you disarmed while frisking.

9. Space, light, floor, shoes or clothes you wear, constitute a further disturbing element.

Who doesn’t teach you to adapt to the circumstances that I’ve just listed, puts you in dangerwith the paradox of being paid despite making you wrong.

The usual excuse of “limited time” does not justify the simple instructor nor the overpaid teacher and it shows the incompetence of those in front of you
